The Urban Forestry Program Manager provides statewide leadership for the Department of Forests, Parks and Recreation in administrative and technical work involving urban and community forestry policies, programs, and projects. The position oversees programs as they relate to community development, strategic planning, outreach and education, and technical and financial assistance. The position involves working collaboratively with a variety of public, private, educational, and non-governmental organizational partners. Supervision is exercised over staff of professional and technical employees.

Duties are performed largely in a main office setting, but with predictable need for considerable travel to District offices, and to meeting and field locations. Private means of transportation should be available for required travel. Appearances before a variety of groups can be anticipated which may involve weekend or evening duty.
Master's degree in urban forestry or a related natural resources field, and three (3) years or more experience in urban forestry or a related natural resources field.
Bachelor's degree in urban forestry or a related natural resources field, and five (5) years or more in forestry or a related natural resources field.
