We're looking to hire a new City Arborist to be part of our team at Montpelier Parks & Trees. It's a full time position with comprehensive benefits (health, dental, retirement, etc.) and a pay of $25.38-$26.67 depending on experience. We have a wonderful team, our small staff of 4 is my favorite part about working here. Also, after 10 years of working for the City of Montpelier I can say that they are a first-rate employer who puts people first. 

This is not a typical "arborist" position where you're out there making chips fly every day. This person will hold the responsibility for the City's tree care program which includes removals, pruning, planting, maintaining a tree inventory, managing our tree nursery, firewood program, caring for "urban" tree landscape in downtown Montpelier, and running our EAB management program. They will also spend a significant amount of time in our parks doing trail work, general maintenance, and helping with events. With all aspects of the job, this position involves a lot of working with volunteers, americorps members, summer youth crews, and community members.
