High School Scholarship
We are pleased to present a brand-new scholarship offering for high school students. In November 2016, the Chapter Board of Directors voted to establish a scholarship for high school seniors who will be pursuing a career in arboriculture, urban forestry, and related fields. Each year, the Chapter will offer one high school scholarship. Graduating seniors are invited to apply! The scholarship has been increased to $2500 for 2019.
Undergraduate and Graduate Scholarships
In November 2016, the Chapter Board of Directors voted to increase the scholarship amount to $2,500. The Chapter will be awarding two $2,500 scholarships for current undergraduate and graduate students.
Shigo Student Support Fund
In October, 2004 at the Annual Conference in Manchester, NH, Dr. Alex Shigo, Tim Walsh, Mary Reynolds, and Richard Herfurth brainstormed an exciting initiative called the Shigo Student Support Fund. The purpose of the fund is to provide grants to students endeavoring to deepen their knowledge of arboriculture through participation in trainings, conferences, workshops, and other events. Funds have been incresed in 2019 to up to $400 per request, may be used for resource materials, registration fees, transportation and lodging.
The funds will help provide more educational opportunities for students involved in the tree industry.

The Arbor Day Grant application has been revised and applicants can now apply online or by mail using the paper application. The grant awards up to $1,000 to a town, organization or community that demonstrates need to promote and support their Arbor Day celebration. Apply online or download a paper application and apply by mail.
