TREK des TREES - 2010, it's on
The Trek des Trees is a New England Chapter yearly event that coincides with our
Annual Conference. The event was created to raise the awareness and need for
tree education in our communities.
The Trek is a usually a walking tour visiting historical and scenic landmarks and
trees. Trek participants help 'Spread the Word of Arboriculture' while navigating
the local streets in a scavenger hunt style event including a map and clues (and
occasionally with GPS) to answer questions for points. The team with the greatest
number of points win!
Teams of friends, colleagues and/or Alma Mata are encouraged to create a friendly
rivalry amongst your fellow arborists. The challenge is out especially to student
teams!
For those team interested, stay tuned for the upcoming 2010 Trek des Trees held
in Plymouth, MA compete against the reining champs: The Wizened Geezers.
